A native app offers the best performance and smoothness, full access to device features, and distribution via the App Store / Google Play. The higher cost is offset by performance and a polished user experience.

A hybrid app combines a single codebase (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) with a native wrapper and access to device APIs and hardware - faster development for multiple platforms at once.
